Title: Clean Florida title

This car is not a kit. It is a factory-assembled, limited-production Cord revival built by Glenn Pray in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with the direct design input of Gordon Buehrig, the original designer of the 1936 Cord 810. It was part of an ambitious project to bring the Cord name back to life in the 1960s with a vehicle that maintained the art-deco beauty of the original while incorporating more modern engineering for practical use.

The Cord 8/10 was named for its scaled-down proportions—80% the size of the original Cord 810, with a 100-inch wheelbase for easier handling and garageability. This particular car, Serial #AC1071, is the 7th car ever built out of just 91 produced before Pray lost control of the venture. It is signed by Pray himself, adding to its historical significance and collector value.

Mechanically, the Cord 8/10 features a Chevrolet Corvair 164ci flat-6 engine, air-cooled and mounted up front. The original Corvair drivetrain was cleverly reversed and re-engineered to deliver power to the front wheels, just like the original Cord 810 that it replicates. It uses a GM Powerglide automatic transmission and independent suspension at all four corners, including torsion bars in the front, giving it impressive comfort and handling for a vehicle with prewar looks.

The body is made from Royalite, a high-strength ABS thermoplastic developed by the U.S. Rubber Company. This cutting-edge material is rust-proof, dent-resistant, and was so advanced that USRC funded the tooling for the Cord 8/10 project as a showcase of Royalite’s potential for automotive manufacturing. Unlike fiberglass kits or steel-bodied customs, Royalite offers durability, resilience, and long-term preservation of shape and finish.

Visually, this car is a faithful tribute to the 1936 Cord, featuring the famous “coffin nose” hood, hidden headlights, and sweeping fender lines that made the Cord a design icon. Early examples like this one used actual new-old-stock Cord 812 dashboard components, giving it one of the most authentic interiors of any replica ever made. Every inch of this car reflects the obsessive detail Glenn Pray put into honoring the original Cord legacy.

Glenn Pray’s story is woven into every panel of this car. From his humble beginnings as a high school shop teacher in Oklahoma to acquiring the rights and 350 tons of Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg inventory in 1960, Pray’s passion for Cords led him to revive one of the most beautiful cars in American history. With guidance from Buehrig and support from U.S. Rubber, the Cord 8/10 was born—a modernized classic that looked like 1936 but drove like 1965.

Only 91 Cord 8/10s were ever built, and most are now tucked away in private collections or museums. This is a rare opportunity to own one of the earliest and most original examples, ready to drive, show, or display. It runs and drives well, starts right up, and includes a clean Florida title.

This car is ideal for collectors, museums, design enthusiasts, or anyone looking to own a true conversation piece that combines vintage style with historical integrity. It’s one of those cars you’ll never see again—and when it’s gone, it’s gone.
